We have a wonderful wine industry here in Minnesota—we just need your support to help us grow!
Cheers friends!The wine industry in Minnesota could use your help.
👉Recent data shows that only 1% of wine consumed in Minnesota is Minnesota made wine. In comparison, 10% of wines consumed in Michigan are made in Michigan. We have room to grow and expand our industry immensely!
🏆Minnesota wineries are winning some very distinctive medals at national and international wine competitions, including Best of Class, Double-Gold, and Platinum awards – some of those earned by Rolling Forks Vineyards, but it’s been difficult to change the public’s perception here in Minnesota that our wines are not just sweet wines or aren’t any good. The experts say they ARE good and this is where you come in.
💸Even if we were able to increase that number to 2%, we would DOUBLE the current MN wine sales, which would create a greater demand for grapes grown here and help out our specialty ag producers as well. Advertising and promotion is a necessary, but costly part of doing business, especially when we are up against some of the big names on the West Coast.
⚖️There is a bill being presented in the MN State Legislature that would direct funds collected from wines being shipped INTO our state to help promote our Minnesota wine industry. The proposal would organize the Minnesota Grape and Wine Council and they would be responsible for a grant program for promotion, education, and development of Minnesota wines using tax monies collected by direct shippers. Currently those tax monies are going into the General Fund and we would like to put them to better use. 💪
